What do you do if you make somebody uncomfortable?

First of all, try super hard not to do that because you are affecting the quality of your investigation. But sometimes weird things come out of your mouth or unintentional comments come out. Things come out in ways you didn't mean, and sometimes people get uncomfortable. And I think you just acknowledge it and move on. "Oh, well, that's totally not what I meant to say. Oh my gosh, that probably made you uncomfortable. Are you okay continuing this? Maybe we should take a break." I think you just acknowledge it and you move on.  There is no obligation for investigators to be superhuman and sometimes we all have verbal snafus.
