"with hundreds of hours of recordings?" title card

What Do I Do if There Are Hundreds of Hours of Recordings?

What do you do when someone hands you hundreds of hours of recordings from the workplace? First of all, you can't ignore that information. If somebody provided you that evidence of their claim, you've got to absorb it and analyze it. But the way that we handle that most frequently is to send it off for transcription, because a good transcription will tell you what time certain things were said, and that will help you as the investigator jump to the parts of the transcript that are pertinent. We often involve the person providing the recordings in that process so they can help us narrow our time. Usually, if you explain to them what it costs for someone like an attorney to be looking at so many hours of stuff, it helps them understand why you're trying to really be hyper-focused on the pertinent points.  We find that Rev.com produces good-quality transcripts.
